Some newer versions of browsers will ask you to confirm whether to allow certain content. I am not familiar with other browsers, but if you have IE6 or 7, when you click any of the links on the "Forecasts" page, you may see the "Information Bar", telling you that Internet Explorer is restricting you from running ActiveX Controls.
This is a very good restriction, as many viruses can be hidden in ActiveX controls. But rest assured, that any ActiveX control on my web site is completely safe.
There is a hidden ActiveX control on this page so that it will display the Information Bar if it is activated.
You should see a yellow bar across the top of the page, which sounds a short "Bleep" when the page is activated.
To view the page, click on the Information Bar, then on the sub menu, click "Allow Blocked Content", then click "Yes" on the dialogue box.
If you are visiting many links, and this process is giving you the willies, you can turn off this action. But, I recommend that you turn it back on once finished with a safe site (like mine).
Here's how you do it.
Click on "Tools". For IE6, it should be on the main Menu Bar at the top of your screen. For IE7, it should be a button at the far right of your screen.
From the sub menu, click on "Internet Options".
Click on the security tab, then click on "Custom Level".
Scroll down to the area that says "ActiveX controls and plug ins".
Now scroll to the section "Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls", select the option "Disable".
Click "OK", "Yes", then "OK" again.
This may seem a little baffling to inexperienced users, but is really quite simple to do. To reverse the process, simply choose "Enable".
As I mentioned earlier, if you are visiting unknown sites, please turn this option back on for your own safety.
